poem- The Lifesaver
Tuesday, April 20th, 2010The Lifesaver
If I was drowning in an ocean storm
Sinking down in the waves of the sea
I would call out “May Day!” to the Captain
“Throw the Lifesaver out to me!”
In desperation I would reach out
Grabbing on with all my might
Trusting the Captain’s Lifesaver
To rescue me that night.
When I’m drowning in an ocean of trouble
Sinking in sin or the despairing sea
I can call out to God my Captain
“Show the Lifesaver unto me!”
He will shine His light on Jesus
The Son He sent to save
I will see how much He loves me
By the cross and the empty grave
In desperation I would reach out
Grabbing on with all my might
Trusting the Captain’s Lifesaver
To rescue me that night.
